MY EXPERIENCE at the Destroy Lonely Forever Tour was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. My friends and I couldn’t stop talking about it throughout the day at school, counting down the hours until the concert. We were full of excitement, knowing we’d finally see one of our favorite artists live. On the drive there, we played all the songs we hoped he’d perform, which only made us even more excited for the night ahead.
At first, I was a bit scared because it was one of my first times at a concert with a mosh pit, and it felt overwhelming. When I first went into the pit, I struggled to breathe. It was hot and humid, and I even lost track of my friends for about 15 to 30 minutes. Although I was alone, I still had a lot of fun. I made some friends who helped me find my group again, which was an unexpectedly positive turn of events. It showed me how the concert community comes together. Of course, the mosh pit had its downsides—people were pulling my hair and stepping on my shoes—but the adrenaline and energy in the air made it all worth it, and I ended up having a great time.
One of the best moments of the night came even before Destroy Lonely took the stage. His DJ and producer opened for him with a great set, playing songs from other artists I love, such as Playboi Carti, Ken Carson, Future, and Lil Uzi Vert. The crowd was hyped, and during the song “Rock & Roll” by Ken Carson, I found myself standing right in front of the DJ. When he came down to the crowd, I was able to take a few pictures, which I thought was a pretty cool experience.
When Destroy Lonely finally came out, the crowd got even louder, with everyone pushing closer to the stage. He opened with the song “Syrup Sippin’,” and from there, the night only got better. He played so many of my favorite songs, including “SAY THAT,” “Raver,” and “FOREVER.” I was especially excited to hear “FOREVER” live because it samples the song “Love Lasts Forever” by All Saints, which I love. The lyrics and rhythm make it stand out to me.
Another standout moment for me was when Destroy Lonely performed “If Looks Could Kill,” a song that isn’t necessarily my favorite but holds a special place because it was one of the first tracks that really pulled me into his music. The beat, rhythm, and lyrics all clicked for me, and hearing it live was unforgettable. As he performed the track, he came to the edge of the stage, and I got to see him up close and capture many videos, which I thought was such a cool moment.
Looking back, this concert has to be one of my favorites of all time. The music, the energy, and the connections I made that night created an experience I’ll never forget. It wasn’t just about the music but also about how the whole crowd and the vibe of the night came together to make it so special.
