I KNOW every lancer at Granger is excited for the summer to begin. No school, going out with friends, the 4th of July, and many other things we all love doing in the summer, and we all look forward to. But there’s one thing that also comes with going into summer. A JOB…

But hold up, because I’m gonna tell you why summer jobs aren’t so bad after all. There are a variety of jobs you can get in the summer. such as being a camp counselor, working at Lagoon, or, if you’re feeling bold, even looking into being a lifeguard over the summer. Getting a job in the summer is not only helpful for you but for all those hangouts as well. Having a job in the summer is also easier because it lets you work during the day, since school is out. It should also help you Lancers be on time for everything.

Trust me, you’ll all thank yourselves one day for getting that summer job. Let’s think about all the hangouts, picnics, and all the adventures you’ll be able to go on thanks to that summer job. Maybe some of you don’t want a summer job because the chances of you getting a flexible schedule are pretty low. But that doesn’t matter. So let’s start applying early and get that summer job. Many people prefer having a job and something to do throughout the day instead of just being home and wasting the summer.

Now let’s talk about how a summer job can help you gain skills for any other job. Think about how those communication skills will increase. Let’s also think about those friendships and teamwork skills that will come along with that summer job. Even if it means you have to wake up early or stay up late. You’ll be able to socialize almost every day. Now, this is only a summer job we’re talking about, so don’t think that you’ll have to keep it around forever. This can be very spontaneous and outgoing, and since school will be out, it’ll be good to meet new people.

So get that summer job, so you can get money for all those adventures you wanna go on, that car you’ve maybe been wanting, or that shopping spree we all need for summer vacations and back-to-school outfits. As someone who has had a summer job, I recommend it because I felt very responsible and was able to buy whatever I wanted. I was able to go to a lot of places and make my summer unforgettable, all thanks to that summer job. So don’t overthink it and stop being a lazy Lancer and get that summer job!
