MOTHER’S day is such a thoughtful holiday that’s celebrated all over the world. The chance to celebrate and show love and gratitude to the people who matter most is what makes Mother’s Day so meaningful. Beyond reminding them that they appreciate everything moms have ever done for them, whether it’s unspoken, but to remind them that it’ll never go unnoticed. When gathering with loved ones, the memories created and those still being made really do show how mother-child relationships and bonds have shaped them into the people they are today. The comfort from mom and all the talks they get to have with them is definitely like no other; it’s one of a kind. Take it all in and don’t take it for granted.
Many lancers are currently stressed about what makes a good gift. Whether it’s handmade or bought, overthinking will still get to them. However, it’s not all about gifts; the thought that counts and the little gestures make the difference.
Jared Navarrete (9) plans to buy flowers and some chocolates for his mom. “My mom’s really basic and likes simple presents,” Navarrete said. He really appreciates his mom for raising him because she did most of it. He likes to consider his mom as his best friend and as someone he can always go to.“My plans for mothers day as well are probably taking her out to eat a nice dinner,” Navararrete added.
Hawa Muridi (12) is very involved with everything that’s going on in school. She shared some gifts she got for her mom, including a MacBook, a Coach purse, and some skincare. “I got these for mom because she doesn’t really spend money on herself; she decides to help everyone else first,” she said. She’s also planning to take her mom out to dinner for that day. “I’m pretty grateful for my mom. She’s been paying off a bunch of my fees. She’s obviously my mom, and I care for her and love her, but one of the things I appreciate most is that she’s someone I can talk to and express my feelings to. She wouldn’t blame you for anything and would rather talk to you to get through it,” Muridi said.
Kay-lee Muro (10) appreciates her mom very much, to the point that it brings tears to her eyes just talking about it. “I’m thinking of getting her a bouquet because she loves flowers and I don’t think she gets them enough,” Muro said. She plans to take her mom out to lunch, just the two of them. “My mom does everything for my siblings and me. She’s a very hard worker and dedicated to giving us everything she has. She takes both roles in a way, although my dad is still a part of my life. She’s just so amazing to me and amazing in general,” she concluded.
