Winter season calls for new and interesting outdoor activities. This fall season going into the winter seems a lot different than others, it’s a lot less cold than unusual. It appears Lancers might not be getting much snow this year. The weather might affect the seasonal activities, but it’s hard to be sure. Some common activities people enjoy during the winter range from staying home and watching movies to going out and snowboarding or traveling outside of the state.
Betzaida Diaz (11) says that she is excited to experience winter in Utah. “In Mexico I would go out and watch the sunsets and enjoy the chilly weather with my friends. I’d make carne asada with my family. Since I’ve never experienced winter in Utah, I have no clue how it will be. But from what I’ve been told, it’s very cold and snow falls. I’ve seen the snow fall and it’s very pretty. For Christmas and New Years, I have plans to spend time with my family.” Diaz said. She’s not a fan of the cold but will have to get used to it eventually.
Nelly Siharath (11) says he is excited for the winter. “In the winter I like to go out, find a place to sit, and acknowledge the quiet calming nature while listening to music. After taking the time to calm down I like to try and make the biggest snowman possible and make it super-duper tall. After it gets too cold, I go inside and make myself a cup of green herbal tea. I’m still unsure about Christmas and New Years plans, but I’m probably just gonna hang out with family and friends.” Siharath hopes it’s a big snow fall this year so he can make an awesome snowman.
Fredy Gonzalez (11) seems to enjoy winter! “I do like winter; I like all the lights and stuff, but I hate that it’s so cold. Sometimes it gets too cold. I do like ice skating; I’m actually a pro, and I go every year. My plan for winter break is to go to a sleepover with my friends, as for Christmas I’m gonna spend time with my family.” Gonzalez is excited to go ice skating and have a sleepover with his friends. He can’t wait for winter break.
This winter season is an exciting time to spend with family and friends whether Lancers stay home or travel. Remember to stay warm and cozy this season. Cover up and don’t get sick! Have an amazing winter season Lancers!
