EVERYONE possesses some sense of personal fashion, whether that means sticking to a single-color palette or sporting the latest trends. Every student’s style is different, which serves as a great representation of Granger High School. Campus fashion trends evolve rapidly, allowing students to express what makes them unique — unless, of course, you accidentally match outfits with a classmate in the hallway.
Preparing for a new school year often brings the struggle of refreshing your wardrobe during back-to-school shopping. In my case, that process always leads to a full closet storm. My jeans tumble off shelves, my jackets jam tightly onto racks, and my shoes pile up on the floor. Despite having dozens of shoes, I usually end up wearing my favorite sandals every day. No matter how many times I tidy my closet, it seems to revert to the same chaotic state.
To tackle the clutter, I developed a strategy of categorizing my wardrobe by season: winter, summer, spring, and fall. After dividing everything by season, I separate items into formal outfits and daily casual wear. One essential tip for this process is learning to let go of clothes you haven’t worn in months. Holding onto unused items only takes up valuable space.
When I cleared out my wardrobe, I filled several bags with clothes to donate. I noticed that most of the discarded items were fast-fashion purchases that had lost their appeal over time, along with styles like boot-cut jeans that no longer fit my current taste.
Lancers, consider taking time to declutter your closet this semester. Clearing out unused clothing provides a fresh start for the school year. You can donate gently used items to community organizations or sell them to earn extra money for new wardrobe essentials. Redo your closet early so you can start the year feeling organized and confident.
