I was so close I could literally see the sweat on Ty Myers’ face by the end of the concert! It was probably one of the best concert experiences I’ve had. What makes it even crazier is that I originally went to Denver for a completely different concert: Daniel Caesar. Don’t get me wrong, Daniel Caesar was such an amazing concert, too, but I mean, come on — I was within arm’s reach of Ty Myers.

It all started with my uncle bursting into my room randomly asking if I wanted to go to Daniel Caesar for my birthday. At first, I thought it was a joke, so we left it for a while and didn’t talk about it again. When the time came closer, we decided we were going and started to plan everything.

We left the morning of the concert for an eight-hour drive to Denver. I had a rough game the night before, so I was slumped the entire ride. Once we got to the hotel, we started getting ready because we wanted to get to the concert early.

Our plan to ride Lime scooters down to the arena backfired when it suddenly started pouring outside. We ended up taking an Uber there and were not early, but we still had plenty of time before Daniel Caesar came out. The arena was huge, and there were already so many people there.

Luckily, we still managed to get the merch we wanted! While waiting for him, we were taking pictures to capture the moment. Finally, he came out and played all his best songs.

He played “Who Knows,” “Get You,” “Japanese Denim,” “Best Part,” “Too Deep to Turn Back,” “Disillusioned,” “Please Do Not Lean,” “Blessed,” “Superpowers,” and lastly, to end it off perfectly, “Always.” It was such a surreal experience and an amazing concert.

I really had the time of my life. The crowd was so fun and really sang their hearts out. Daniel Caesar was also very interactive with us, which made the experience even better. Both our phones had died, and we got a little lost making it back to the hotel, but it was cool.

The next day, we had it all to ourselves to explore the city and just do whatever we wanted. We went to a cute breakfast spot around the corner that was pretty good. After that, we rode scooters all around downtown, seeing what was going on. In Denver, there were so many people walking around and taking public transportation.

It felt like a small town even though we were in a big city. We ended up going to the closest mall, which was huge and had more than 140 stores. We went shopping, but for how many stores there were, it still felt like a small selection. It was like all the malls in Utah combined into one. Once we made it back to the hotel, we went to sleep to get a good rest for the next part of the road trip.

Grand Junction was where the next concert was going to be, about a three-hour drive from Denver. The drive went by fast, and we were there in no time. When we got there, we were still unsure about going and had not even gotten tickets — mind you, the concert was in an hour and a half.

We ended up getting tickets and figured out the ride situation because the venue was pretty far away this time. We rushed to get ready and left right away. We got there a little late, but the openers were just finishing up, so we made it at the perfect time.

My uncle got me more merch, and we went to look for our seats. We didn’t even realize that we had gotten front-row seats until we got there. We were both so excited, and shortly after, Ty Myers came out.

I was feeling all the emotions — he was literally right in front of me. And once he started playing, oh my gosh, he’s even cuter in person! He had such a great band with him, and they brought all the vibes.

I could go on and on about my time at Ty Myers, but I really couldn’t tell you which concert was better. Ty Myers’ concert is slightly over Daniel Caesar only because I was so close and the experience was so cool.

I had a big smile across my face the whole trip. I truly had the best time at both concerts, and this was probably the greatest gift I could have ever received thanks to my uncle. Go to every concert you can — you only live once, and they are so much fun!
