PROM preparations are here, and upperclassmen are getting excited. Prom at Granger High is a very anticipated event that many students look forward to throughout the year. Making it the most important dance junior class officers can plan. The junior class officers’ goal for prom is for the junior and senior classes to be able to enjoy themselves. They’ve been preparing since back in November figuring out authentic prom themes.
Prom is a very great dance to put yourself out there and have fun with the upperclassmen at Granger High School. It’s also the one time a year when you can hang out with friends or ask out your dates with promposals and fun signs, flowers, or chocolates. Also, arriving in limos and rented cars is an exciting way to get to prom.
“We’re really excited to see how people prepare for prom,” Aleisha Lim (11) said. Prom is a fun way to get involved and have fun at school events.
People are getting creative with how they are going to arrive at prom. “I’m gonna get there in a limo, and I’m going to invite my other friends to come with me inside,” Jose Landa (11) said.
Limos or rented cars are very common vehicles for fun ways to get to prom with friends. “Me and my friends are going to drive to take pictures, but also to prom which is just more convenient for us.” Enzo Munyaneza (12) said.
Many Lancers are creating unique promposals to ask out their dates. “The sign I made my girlfriend says my only GOAL is to kick it with you at prom,” Alex Villalobos (11) said.
There are many clever ways to ask someone to prom posters, flowers, and sweets that would get a yes. “I asked my girlfriend with a poster that had Solo cups, and the poster said don’t make me go solo to prom, but my girlfriend had already gone to my house and set up my room with rubber duckies and a poster that said I’d be a lucky ducky to go with you to prom.” Chase Benson (10) said.
Lots of Lancers, instead of going with a date, decide to go with a group of friends. “Since the seniors on the basketball team are friends, we thought it would be fun if we went together to take pictures and also get the same suits,” Munyaneza said.
As prom concludes, seniors would have mixed opinions as this is their last year to enjoy this special once-a-year dance.
“I thought prom was great, some song switches were a little iffy, but overall it was a fire experience with great energy from everyone,” Munyaneza said.
The DJs are always a topic of debate between the students. This DJ was pretty fun. He knew some great songs, although some beat switches were questionable — overall not a bad DJ.
