EVERY student at Granger High School finds a unique path toward getting involved, but few demonstrate Brooke Rapp’s (11) Lancer Pride. While balancing her personal life, Rapp serves as vice president for
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), organizes school events with the Lancer Action Team, enrolls in concurrent enrollment courses, and competes in track and field in the hurdles, 200-meter dash, and 4×200-meter relay. Handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously can challenge any high school student, but Rapp encourages her fellow Lancers through her patient and focused approach.
As dedicated as she is to academics and school leadership, Rapp remains equally focused on supporting her friends whenever they face challenges at home or school. Classmates consistently rely on her for encouragement, guidance, and teamwork across school activities.
“I know I can count on her whenever I need her,” Hannah Allison (11) said.
Allison says that Rapp consistently brings energy and positivity to their social circle, ensuring everyone feels included whether they are working on projects or spending time together outside of school. Rapp’s personal interests also set her apart. As Lancers pass her in the hallway, many might not realize how much time she devotes to campus life or how unique her hobbies are outside of school. Alongside her love for western culture and cowgirl style, Rapp holds a deep passion for automobiles that only her close friends truly understand.
“Brooke really loves Jeeps,” Darby Armstrong (11) said. “She has around six or seven Jeeps.” Rapp’s dedication carries directly onto the track, where coaches and teammates rely on her during relay competitions. During practice, she sets an example by asking coaches for constructive feedback, analyzing her own mistakes, and making adjustments to improve her performance. Rather than getting discouraged by a tough race, she stays positive and reassures her teammates that they can succeed if they stay focused.
“Brooke is dedicated,” Nelly Barrera (11) said. “I’ve seen her fall, win, and lose, but no matter what, she’s always trying to get better and hit that next PR. She maintains a positive attitude through it all and never sees a setback as failure.”
Barrera says that Rapp’s leadership helps build confidence across the entire team during meets. “She’s also extremely encouraging and kind; she helps others constantly and rallies everyone to cheer on our teammates,” Barrera said. “Brooke is one of the most natural leaders I’ve ever met, and I’m grateful to be able to run relays with her. She is a very dependable person.”
