A TEACHER has been gone for more than three months, and the truth has finally come out. A lot of Sr. Ferrarons’s students were shocked by the news. The principal shared his current condition with his students and what will happen moving forward.
Sr. Ferrarons, as many students know, has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Everyone’s support came out right after they heard the news. It was not easy for many students because Sr. Ferrarons has been a teacher for them since elementary or middle school. So, continuing high school was a big accomplishment for students, and they were thrilled to share it with them, so knowing he’s not here makes it sad for all the students who miss him.
In response to this situation, Granger High School and Westlake’s administrators put together a plan to send some love to Sr. Ferrarons during these hard times. It was an opportunity for us students to show the love they have for this teacher, and it was very touching.
The plan is to make a video to show some love to Sr. Ferrarons and to talk to him. The way it worked was students were able to record their messages while talking into a microphone, and the videos would be sent to Sr. Ferrarons family so they could be shown to him which is such a nice idea to show support.
The video ended up being 30 minutes long, which is an amazing amount of support and love. Students who knew him from West Lake Junior High School saw that he had received an award for being the best teacher out of the whole state of Utah, so not only us Lancers know the love that this teacher has for his students and his work but also the whole state of Utah recognized his work.
When he first came to Granite District, he put a lot of love and hard work into his teaching, and he received good feedback on his work — not only from other teachers or principals but from students as well — especially from students who have just met him recently. He has such a kind heart and will make anyone feel welcome.
Sr. Ferrarons has such a passion for his student’s success in education, and they’ll be looking forward to welcoming him back after he has recovered.
