“NO ONE MOURNS THE WICKED”
Is Wicked: For Good. Really, THE most anticipated Movie of THE year?
Wicked: For Good, the beloved movie series based on Gregory Maguire’s Wicked book series, did an Early screening for fans on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025. Fans showed up to the movie wearing all sorts of things, feather boas, wicked merch, and even dressed up as Glinda and Elphaba.
Wicked for Good dives into the second part of the storyline of Wicked. It shares the thoroughness of friendship, estrangement, and the difficult choices that seal the rest of their existence in the Emerald City. As Elphi and Glinda decide whether to continue fighting for what they love in Emerald City and stay out of each other’s way, or find a way back to each other, Fans cried and felt connected to the characters in different ways. Making the movie extra special.
The beloved characters Glinda, the good witch, and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, told an outstanding and heartfelt story. Warming their way to their fans once again. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo put on a spectacular performance and really stepped into their characters’ roles. Leaving fans in awe. They performed an amusing duet of “For Good.”
The main message presented in Wicked: For Good shows the manipulation of truth, the power of propaganda, the strong political influence on the citizens of Emerald City, and the meaning of friendship. We see these themes pattern through all the friendships created in the film: the good and the bad.
This film resonated with the world we live in today. It came out at a perfect time to really make the audience think critically about their day-to-day lives in the world.
The cinematography in this film is unlike anything else. Everything felt so surreal and helped viewers visualize what it would be like to live in the Emerald City. The colors were so vivid and really demonstrated the essence of each character. All the visuals were so realistic. It was nearly impossible to fathom that it was CGI!
One of my favorite moments in Wicked for Good had to be when Glinda and Elphaba hugged each other again for the first time in what felt like forever. After Elphaba was hiding due to being targeted by the wizard and the citizens. The moment between them was bittersweet and highlighted one of the main points — the true meaning of friendship.
This would be the perfect movie for anyone looking to see a film full of joy, friendship, and the values it takes to have a destiny designed for you. The film is wicked for good. Overall, it was beautifully crafted, and I couldn’t have wanted to watch it any other way. I have no negative criticism to give. Although I do wish the movie were a bit longer.
Watching Wicked for God overall warmed up my heart, and I couldn’t recommend it more. I absolutely give it five stars. The film made me shed tears, made me a little frustrated, but overall made me feel joy as I watched the storyline unfold. I recommend this film to all!
