E-SPORTS is now a club being created at Granger. It introduces new opportunities and creates an environment where Lancers can socialize with others who enjoy gaming. This new club also shows how much our like video games in this generation. Lancers enjoy competing against each other in the same game to find out who is the best. They could sit there for hours till they finally settled on the winner.
The games that are played are Super Smash Bros., Ultimate, Rocket League, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This is a real team where Lancers will be showing off their skills. The popularity of video games has grown over the past few years, and it’s nice to have something for everyone.
The club’s coach is Shaun McNeil. They will be hosting practices every Tuesday and Thursday after school. It’s a fantastic environment to go and socialize with others who may have the same interests. This could be a big opportunity for Lancers to be a part of a club that could go big.
As for their season, it starts in early January, so if any Lancers still want to join, there is still time! Even if Lancers don’t play games much, they can still join the team. “Don’t touch grass!” is one of their mottos. So, Lancers, do not touch grass — go play for the new e-sports team. It’s Granger’s time to shine and support.
This is just the beginning of our new e-sports club, and many more advancements are on the way. They will find a new game to start, a new rivalry, and then move on to competing against other schools.
