SIDELINE: The QB & Me is the kind of teen movie that makes you smile and laugh at the same time. It is funny, cute, and has just enough drama to keep it interesting.

The movie is focused on a girl named Dallas, who is a dancer that moved to a new school because her brother is the school’s football coach. She is focused on dancing and reaching her goals.

Her love interest, Drayton, is the school’s star quarterback who everyone seems to love. At the beginning of the movie, Dallas and Drayton don’t really get along. Dallas thinks Drayton is very full of himself and Drayton thinks she is too serious, but their opinions on each other change as the movie progresses.

The movie is fun because their relationship feels real. They tease each other, argue, and slowly start to get along. Dallas is not there to fall in love, she has her own dreams and works hard for them. Drayton is not just a regular football player, he is awkward, funny, and kind which makes him very likeable.

The visuals of the movie are very bright and fun. The school hallways look cool, the dance scenes are impressive, and the football scenes are exciting even if you don’t really care about sports.

The side characters are hilarious. Their friends, teachers, and parents all bring funny moments that make the movie even more enjoyable and entertaining. Some of the things they say are over the top but in a funny way that keeps you laughing.

The story is predictable but that is part of the fun. You can tell most of the big moments are coming but it does not ruin the movie. It is not trying to be super serious or deep, It’s just a  movie that is fun and makes you feel good. There are moments that make you laugh, moments that make you smile, and moments that make you root for Dallas and Drayton. It is easy to watch and you do not have to think too hard which makes it perfect for a movie night.

I would give this movie three and a half out of five stars. It is not perfect but it is funny, cute, and entertaining. Obviously not every movie can be the best movie but this movie makes you want to relax and just munch on some chips. The best part is that there is a sequel coming. It is called Sidelined 2: Intercepted and it will follow Dallas and Drayton in college. It will have new challenges, new drama, and probably more funny and cute moments. It is exciting to think about what will happen next for the characters.

Overall, Sidelined: The QB & Me is not life changing but it is a good movie to watch if you want something fun and light. It makes you laugh and just enjoy a teen romance without any stress. If you like movies that are funny, cute, relaxing , and  entertaining then this is definitely one to check out
