FROM FULL color dyes to blonde patches, dyed hair has always been a trend. To many students, hair is not just hair, it’s an expression of style. Having dyed hair sets you apart from the rest, and is a popular way to show a little personality.

Jacob Morga (10) felt inspired to dye part of his hair. “I dyed the right side of my hair blonde, which really made me stand out from the rest. Blonde is a nice color, it feels like the blonde just goes with my flow. Seeing others have a blonde patch, inspired me to do the same,” He said.

Most students would agree it’s fun to experiment with hair. “You should dye your hair at least once in your life to see if you like it. I have blonde highlights all throughout my hair, which really attracts the ladies,” Miguel Hernandez (12) said. A lot of the girls love it, which was the main reason he wanted to get highlights. When people look at his hair, some of them might also think of him as a player though. He didn’t just change his hair for the ladies though, he also did it to stand out a little. .“I didn’t go full blonde, as I don’t want to stand out much, but not look too basic either.” Hernandez said.

Ieva Cervantes (11) has pink hair, “My hair is fully dyed pink, which really stands out in a crowd. I chose pink because of other inspiration I saw throughout my childhood,” she said. One of the inspirations she said was Draculaura from Monster High, a show with many characters with colorful hair, her hair color is a pink mixed with black, which is what Ieva was going for. She feels as if the color makes her stand out and gives a boost of confidence that she’s never had before.

Dark red hair is a very classic staple, which many people choose to dye their hair. Thao Ngo (11)’s hair is a deep and dark red, a color that suits her very well, but she’s definitely experimented with other colors.“Throughout the years, I have done many different colors, such as pink, blonde, and even purple! Many say that girls who have red hair are evil, but trust me guys I’m not evil, at least not that I know of.” she said.

We see the different varieties of colors through the diverse student section of Granger High, which is full of different and complex personalities and styles. Students like that hair can be  a trait that sets you apart from others. From bright blondes to dark colored reds, everyone can use hair dye to show off their own unique personalities.
