It’s been an unforgettable season for the football team — a year filled with outstanding leadership, growth, and incredible teamwork. The players have shown their determination and skill; every moment in every game has helped the team grow stronger and more connected.
Ifo Pili (12) said this year has been excellent, mainly because of the bond he’s built with his teammates. “It’s been a great year,” he said, “I’ve made a lot of friendships, especially with the seniors. I like how this year the seniors are more in control and are good leaders.” As one of the team captains, he takes pride in the progress they’ve made and the intense chemistry they’ve built over his two years on the team. Pili said the team works together and has very close bonds.
The team has become so much stronger since last season, according to Bobo Kofe (12). “We’re doing so much better, no more losing, and we’ve gotten more region wins than last year,” he said. He thanks his coach for pushing them to face tougher competition and for even allowing the team to travel out of state to compete. He also says he has improved his stunting and is doing well. “All the guys on my team are my boys,” Kofe said. He says that every player has stepped up and shown improvement individually and as a team.
Se Kofe (11) described the season as one of the best experiences yet, “It’s going really good, very great and pretty fun,” he said. He thanked the coaches for “keeping the team disciplined and focused through tough conditioning; it helps us keep our stamina up,” he said. He also shared how being part of the team has changed him. “I’ve improved a lot, not just on the field but off the field, too,” he said.
Adam Kofe (11) said this year has been one to remember, “The team is doing really well, and it’s been fun playing together,” he said. “Our coach makes sure we all get better together, not just one person,” He said, describing the team as a family, “the whole team are my friends, and we push each other to be better,” Adam said, emphasizing that the relationships built this season make every game, win or lose, feel meaningful and worth the effort.
The Lancers have shown their strength in every matchup, dominating the scoreboard week after week. They opened the season with an impressive 47-9 win over Hillcrest, setting the tone early. They kept their winning streak going with another impressive victory, 46-7 over Taylorsville High School, followed by a massive 56-7 win against Kearns High. Then, the defense and offense team worked so excellent together in a 26-6 victory over Cyprus high, but nothing topped the best game that everyone was looking forward to The Battle of the ‘Ville, where Granger high crushed Hunter High 54-0, that rivalry game became a season highlight, and it proved the team’s talent, preparation, and dedication.
As the season progresses, the team is focused on finishing strong. They’ve proven that leadership, teamwork, and brotherhood are the keys to success. Every practice, every game, and every win reflects the dedication of players who have given everything for their school, their team, and each other. This season isn’t just about football; it’s about family, growth, and pride in what it means to be a Granger Lancer.
