AFTER being closed for a while, the G-store at Granger High School has officially reopened, and students couldn’t be more excited.
Many Lancers order food from the G-Store and know that the lines do get long, so getting there early is a must! Aside from the long lines, the menu is pretty tasty and offers a good variety of options for all Lancers. Some of the most popular items off the menu are noodles, breadsticks, chips, fruit snacks, water, juices, and more!
From favorite menu items to thoughts on pricing and wait times, Lancers have plenty to say about their G-store experiences.
“I’m graduating a year early and will miss having the G-store because the prices are so good,” Valerie Mendoza (11) said. She will miss having the G-Store since it’s so cheap compared to other places, and it’s a place where she can get food quickly and still have time to do homework during lunch break. I enjoy everything on the menu, but the prices for the chips and cup noodles are crazy. I usually get the cup noodles and a Sunny D, but I don’t like the price of the cup noodles since it’s $1 here, but at Macey’s it’s only 50 cents,” she said. Other than that, she thinks everything is reasonably priced, and she says the long line usually moves quickly, so she doesn’t mind waiting.
The G-store has plenty of other things on its menu, not just cup noodles. One of the most popular items on the menu is Little Caesars’ breadsticks. Many students at Granger go crazy for them! As they do make a lot of breadsticks each day, there are times when they don’t sell out, and the G-Store adviser hands them out to students after school.
Most students would agree that the long line is well worth the wait. “I think the wait is worth it because of how good the breadsticks are,” Anthony Rodriguez (11) said. The breadsticks are his favorite thing on the menu. He also always gets the sauce to go with the breadsticks. “I need sauce to go with my breadsticks, but I do think it’s overpriced at the G-store, and they should sell it for 50 cents instead of $1,” he added. Other than the price of the sauce, the G-store is worth it to him.
As Lancers keep buying and buying, more students are arriving in class earlier rather than being late.
“I usually buy food from outside of school, but I started buying from the G-store instead. I’ve been saving money, and I’ve been getting to class earlier,” Anayah Escamilla (11) said. When she buys from the G-store, she likes how quickly she can get the food, and then she can focus on her homework in the library. Her favorite things on the menu are the breadsticks and cup noodles, and she said it’s all worth the money.
The faster you get there, the quicker you will get your food, and you’ll be able to eat for longer.
The G-store is located inside the school, just below the library. Many students like to visit the store for better prices on food and snacks. It benefits everyone because it can also help Lancers make it to class on time instead of having to walk and wait for their food somewhere off campus.
Students who use the G-store overall see it as very beneficial and hope it’s here to stay. It is very cost-efficient, quick, and can help students get to class on time!
