The Summer has come to an end, and the fall season has just begun! With the leaves changing colors and the cooler temperatures kicking in, Granger students’ fashion looks are switching up just as quickly.
Here at Granger, many students express themselves with their outfits. Every student has their own style and own way of putting together outfits, so our campus is filled with many unique staples. But some common garments/accessories students can agree that they are looking forward to wearing are sweaters, jackets, long/short sleeve shirts, and being able to layer their outfits in the cooler weather.
Wyatt Hooper (12) says he will be wearing more jackets with collared shirts just to keep it simple, but his must-have fall accessory is his assortment of ties. “There are so many possibilities with ties you can wear them traditionally around collared shirts, just around your neck, tie it like a rose shape, and my own personal favorite is wearing it like a wallet chain from my pants loops,” Hooper said.
I don’t really like following mainstream fashion trends. I think everyone should have their own style. I get many inspirations in my daily life when seeing what people wear on the street, and I put bits and pieces together in my own visions,” he said.
Hooper states that a fashion trend he personally doesn’t like is Adidas Sambas. “I personally don’t like sambas at all. There are so many better options like Onista Tigers, Speed Cats, etc. that don’t give you blisters every time you wear them.”
Angie Cazares Rojas (12) says she wear oversized baggy pants, chunky shoes, along with short and long-sleeve cut-neckline t-shirts. An item she will definitely be using this fall is an alternative-styled purse or 2000s-style handbag.
“My must-have is definitely an alternative look-alike purse or any old 2000s bags with big designs. I would style them with heeled boots, warm leggings, and a long-sleeve shirt or a dress. I don’t follow fashion trends, but would absolutely love to. I get most of my inspiration from family members and friends who dress better than me, but I like to mix it into my own style,” Rojas said.
Cazaras Rojas says that shirts tucked in pants are a no in fashion for her! “Personally, I don’t like anything that includes tucked shirts in pants with random boots underneath. They might look good on some people, but personally, for me, it’s a no,” she said.
Esmerelda Rodriguez (12) plans on wearing simple clothing such as sweaters, shorts, and t-shirts. Her must-have item is an angel kiss bag or a tote bag. “I think they are cute, fashionable, and they can carry a lot of stuff. I personally like to follow fashion trends I see on social media like TikTok and Instagram.” Rodriguez said.. She also says that a fashion trend she does not like is Uggs with skinny jeans. “Personally, I think it looks disproportionate, but I do know that there are many people who can pull that style off,” she said.
