THIS UPCOMING 25-26 school year, the class of ‘26 is decorating pants to show off school spirit and excitement for graduation! Many students are making senior pants. They aren’t doing just senior pants, but also full outfits!
They’re made by decorating pants with paint and other decorations based on favorite hobbies, shows, characters, school/favorite colors! Making and wearing senior pants is a fun way to look back on senior year and make memories.
Hillary Gonzalez (11) is graduating early and is sad to leave the soccer team. She says her theme for her senior pants is Strawberry Shortcake. “I chose this theme because I watched Strawberry Shortcake a lot when I was younger and have always loved it,” Gonzalez said. She got the idea of senior pants off TikTok, as it has been going viral recently, and thought it could be a fun idea. Theming the pants from favorite childhood shows is a popular way that students have been incorporating childhood memories into their own pair.
Natalia Vega (12) made a skirt instead of pants. “I incorporated my favorite pink color, bows, and rhinestones into my skirt,” Vega said. It’s been a tradition to see a few seniors make crafts like these, but recently, it has gained more traction online. This way, students can either create their own theme or get some ideas online.
Mariam Villalba (12) said that she didn’t choose a specific theme but instead put “Senior” on one leg and “2026” on the other with some other decorations. Vilalba used yellow and block letters as the font and primary color. Many kids are showing off their creative sides and getting out of their comfort zones when it comes to decorating their pants & skirts.
“Me and my friends made senior pants before school started and wore them to senior sunrise. We also did them in Granger colors,” Grace Winder (12) said. Many students tried to show school spirit through their crafts.
Matthew Rupp (12) didn’t have a theme but instead had red and white as the main colors. Some kids are going all out and while some are keeping it simpler. “Me and my friends made the pants over the summer and wore them to senior sunrise. My favorite color is yellow, but I didn’t have any, so I used red and white instead,” Rupp said.
It’s so interesting to see each student’s style and learn how they made their pants. It also helps to get to know these seniors’ personalities a little better by seeing their hobbies, favorite colors, and favorite childhood things!
