GRANGER offers a variety of school lunches, and many are delicious. One of my favorite school lunches is pizza. The pizza here at Granger is so versatile. Options typically include Hawaiian, pepperoni, sausage, cheese, and the supreme, which has many different toppings. There is something for everyone, no matter how picky. That is my go-to for when nothing else looks appealing.
Nachos are a meal that you get to customize yourself. Because there is an option to eat with just cheese, but also the option to hook-it-up with all the best toppings such as rice, beans, lettuce, jalapenos, salsa, sour cream, etc.
A few of Granger’s classics are hot dogs, burgers, or spicy chicken. Lancers love the spicy chicken sandwiches, but I’m not the biggest fan. I guess I’m just a little wary of eating chicken from the school.
A couple of new items for Lancers are the turkey salad bowls and ramen. Most students have mixed feelings about these meals, but I think they taste OK. The ramen seems a little suspicious, although it has a good flavor. The turkey salad bowl is good, but it feels like it’s missing something.
I love teriyaki meals, especially if it comes with fried spring rolls. I love the sauce and the broccoli. I would recommend it. I also recommend orange chicken with white rice because it is a plain, but safe option when choosing what to eat.
A meal I haven’t seen in a while but would definitely get if given the chance is the pizza rippers. I loved eating them in middle school and have only seen them a few times at Granger. The baked potato is delicious — especially with the right toppings like sour cream.
Mac and cheese is a meal I do not recommend to anybody. While it comes with the classic side of a bread roll, the actual mac and cheese itself is not the best. I remember one of the times I ate the meal and there was a chunk of salt inside of it, and I thought I was crazy, but I asked my friends, and they said they shared similar experiences.
An exciting meal for many Lancers, including myself, is the tacos. They weren’t exactly what I expected, but they’re quite good. Although, I wish they offered a wider variety of toppings.
Another option you can always count on being there is the peanut butter and jelly sandwich served with a side of chips. I used to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day. These options are the most consistent and never fail to make me full.
All these meals are excellent choices if you’re hungry, and they’re available to every Lancer. If you feel hungry after eating, you’re able to go and get a second serving of food. Some Lancers look down on school lunches, but if you ever need a great option, I hope this helps you make a choice.
