GRANGER High School wrestling has been a big part of the school for many years. The team is known for working hard, staying dedicated, and performing well in competitions. The Lancers have built a strong reputation in Utah’s high school wrestling community.
The wrestling program has been around for a long time. While it’s hard to say exactly when the wrestling program started, Granger Wrestling has always focused on helping athletes improve and do their best in competition.
Over the years, the team has won several state championships and sent wrestlers to college to compete at a higher level.
“We teach our athletes that it’s all about effort,” Coach Livingston said. “It’s not just about winning matches. It’s about working hard and getting better every day.”
The team’s success is not just about individual talent but about working together as a group. While there are great individual wrestlers on the team, what makes Granger successful is the way everyone helps each other. Whether at practice or during meets, teammates push each other to improve their skills and mental strength.
“The team feels like a family,” Luis (12), a captain on the team, said. “We all support each other. It’s not just about winning; it’s about how hard we work together.”
Granger Wrestling also has a lot of support from the community. Former wrestlers often come back to help, either by coaching younger athletes or cheering on the team. This strong connection makes the program special.
“It’s awesome when alumni come back to support us,” a coach who has been with the team for many years, said. “It shows how much the program means to everyone.”
Looking ahead, Granger Wrestling has a bright future. With talented athletes and coaches who care, the team is set to keep doing well. Whether they’re winning titles or just improving, the Lancers are always striving to be better.
“We’re always looking for ways to improve,” Coach Livingston said. “Wrestling teaches you more than just how to fight. It teaches you to never give up.”
With a strong work ethic and the support of everyone involved, it will continue to succeed for years to come.
