FRESHMEN have been around for about a year, so considering that they may be different compared to the beginning. Lancer freshmen talk about their first year in Granger High School and how their experience went.
Florence Sui (9) will be the first Lancer to say how her experiences went for her this school year. Sui thinks that this year was fun for her because of this. “I met a lot of new people who are so loving and gorgeous, and my favorite classes were math and wood shop because I feel comfortable in that environment,” Sui said. “Overall, this year was good.”
“I really liked this year and all the fun memories I made but in my opinion my 8th grade was more fun than year because I felt comfortable in the community and had more friends there, but I still think freshman year was really fun,” Sui said.
“I think freshman year for me was at least easy for me. I had to lock in sometimes, but it was still easy for me in my opinion,” Sui said. That is all Sui had to say about her freshman year.
The next Lancer is Hanady Elnoor (9). “Freshman year was OK. It was good,” she said. Elnoor says that this year was calm, and chill for her. “I also met people which was good, and it was somewhat fun.” Elnoor said. “I also really liked all the fun activities this school did. I really enjoyed them and being on the soccer team was my favorite part of this year.” Elnoor said. Elnoor also said that “Freshman year was not hard but also you sometimes need to lock in and do your work because you get behind in freshman year.” That is all that Elnoor had to say.
Sabrina Bustos (9) is now gonna be talking about her freshmen experience. “I thought it was really interesting there was a lot of new stuff, meeting people, more classes, more work.” Bustos said. “Something I liked about this year was meeting new people and making friends. I really enjoyed that.” Bustos said. Bustos also said that “freshman year was boring, but it was also fun. There were some days I was too tired to get up and class was boring. But when you make friends then class is not boring but most of the time, I am tired of getting up early.”
“I took GTI this year and it was fun to honestly meet people there and GTI was fun to take because you would just skip the end of your class and go to GTI.”
That is all Bustos had to say.
The last student to talk about their first experience being a freshman is Allyson Jimenez (9). “I really liked this year. I met a lot of people I enjoyed meeting, and they made this year really fun,” Jimenez said.
“I thought this year was going to be hard, but it was honestly pretty easy if you paid attention and did your work.” Jimenez said. Jimenez also said how she really liked “taking GTI — it’s fun, and you get to do a lot of stuff, but it also depends on what GTI class you take. But I feel GTI was also the fun thing I did here,” Jimenez said.
“This year was boring as well. Some days were boring, and I just wanted to sleep but if you become friends with the right people, they can make your school year really and that’s what happened to me. That’s why I love all the friendships I made this year.” Ally said. That is all Jimenez had to say.
