HERE AT Granger, people like to express themselves and feel more colorful. Those who have colored hair are more creative and have a more confident mindset about their looks and seem not to care too much about how others view them. Some Lancers have amazing hair colors like blue, pink, red, yellow, and a whole lot more colors from the rainbow.
This also goes for how people like to style their hair, like some who spike their hair, or those who make a heart or even a star with their hair, and with people who make cute simple updos.
“I’ve always loved having colorful hair and being different as it is also fun to have colored hair,” Jazmine Jimenez (10) said. Jimenez says she didn’t have anyone who gave her any inspiration, but she knew what color she wanted and how she wanted it to look. She would usually look on Pinterest to see how she wanted to format highlights specific to her hair.
“To keep your hair healthy, what I recommend is deep conditioning your hair or adding oils to it and not washing it too much as your natural oils are really good,” Jimenez said. Jimenez dyes her hair once a month, depending on how faded it is.
“I’m stuck on three different colors to do after having the highlights I have. The three colors I have are purple, green, and blue. If I were to go purple, I’d probably do my whole head of hair instead of just the highlights I have on right now,” Jimenez says she has thought about going back to her natural color but only because it was healthy, and since she has curls it has gotten damaged and is now dead and damaged her curls, she doesn’t care anymore. “I love having colorful hair, and I say it’s fun while it also helps me to express myself and feel different from others,” Jimenez said.
Daysi Martinez (10) says the way she wanted to dye her hair was pretty cool, and she also wanted to change something about it, as it wasn’t the hair color she had originally wanted. She says it was still a pretty cool color to have. “I wanted angel rings originally but then realized ghost roots were really cool, and I thought if I just did those it would eventually turn into angel rings,” Martinez said.
She recommends not using too much heat on hair to keep it healthy, along with not using box dye and using actual hair dye that doesn’t damage hair or does little to no damage. Kids could use hair dyes like Iroiro, Strawberry Leopard, Good Dye Young, and Manic Panic.
“I dye my hair either once or twice a month at most. I try to not dye too much because then it would get damaged,” Martinez says her next color would be in the choices of navy blue, midnight blue, purple, or even green hair. “I wouldn’t go back to my natural hair only because I just recently bleached my hair, and I’d rather keep it a cool color than have it black. If I were to go back to black, it’d be in the next year or two,” Martinez said.
