SNACKS are important throughout a school day. But has it ever occurred to you to get a locker full of snacks? Some lancers shared how they managed to keep their snacks with them. Most Lancers keep snacks in their backpacks. They eat them throughout the day, and whenever they’re feeling hungry, a snack is there to save their day. Some of our Lancers have their own opinions about how to manage their goodies throughout the school day.
Ofakitahi Malohifoou (12) says he carries snacks almost every day. “I eat them right before lunch, towards the end of the second period. It’s my pre-lunch snack,” Malohifoou said. Protein bars, granola bars, and granola balls are what he brings the most. “I would get a locker with snacks. I never really thought about it, but I would,” said Malohifoou. A locker with snacks is easy to access. “They should assign lockers to the students honestly; matter of fact, I would sell food from my locker,” Malohifoou said. Keep an eye out, a new snack seller might be coming soon. Then there are some Lancers who would rather only eat sweets. Ky Hoang (12) is one of them. “I usually keep candy, Gushers, Sour Patch Kids, and KitKats. Just candy.” That is a lot of candy; it’s very delicious, though. Hoang says he usually eats his snacks while he works independently in class. A locker full of sweets could be amazing. “Honestly, yes, I would get a locker for snacks. Me and my friends talked about sharing a locker with snacks.” Hopefully, they will make that dream come true.
Another example of a Lancer who only carries sweets is Kamuela Faamoe (12). “I carry a lot of candy, every type of candy. I munch on candy throughout the day,” he said. You can never go wrong with sweets throughout the day — not too much, though. “I would not get a locker because I would rather carry my snacks around in case I’m craving something. I would not want to walk all the way to my locker just to get a snack.” Very true, snacks are safer when carried around and by their owner.
Natalie Pereira (12) says that due to the lack of time, she carries around snacks. “I carry cookies around, the only reason I do it is because on B days I can´t get breakfast because I don’t wake up early and I go back home at 3 P.M.,” said Pereira. The lack of time really does affect a Lancer’s appetite. “I need snacks to survive the day, Knots Strawberries are the ones I carry the most,” Pereira said. It is super important to eat during the day.
There are many ways to get full throughout the day, and if Lancers want lockers to hold necessary snacks, they can go into the front office and go all the way to the back. At that back desk, Ms. Okelberry will assign lockers to Lancers in need.
