What do gym rats eat? Most people who work out every day tend to have a strict diet that they like to stick to. Some may eat more than others and others may eat less. It all depends on what their body goal is so they either cut, bulk, or keep form maintenance. What you eat can be vital to you, but no matter what the goal is, don’t abuse your own body by not eating or binge eating.
Most people who go to the gym come to terms with how working out and lifting weights is not the hard part, but eating, because they must take the necessary intake of their daily protein carbs, grains etc. And some may feel sick when eating, but they force themselves to take it because it’s for the gains.
As for some gym rats, they like taking some time off from lifting and eating clean so they take a cheat day. They can eat whatever they want, their favorite junk food, drinks, go off and party right, and they take some time to rest their bodies without feeling guilty.
Gym rats use supplements to help them through their amazing exhausting journey. So just because a specific product helps another person with their gym progress does not mean it is meant for you. For example, creatine. Some take it to enhance their gym progress and energy, to get them through the workout, but some cannot take it due to the lack of drinking water, heart/anxiety problems, or certain age — those under 18, specifically. But nobody really listens to the warning.
When it comes to bone structure or how specific a certain body is, it does not mean they eat less or more; it all depends on the genetics. Mostly, every aspect of your body becomes the conclusion of your genetics.
Like myself — I have very showy defined collarbones and a skinner upper body, and at times when people look at me, they think I don’t eat because of the way my ribs show. They always come up to me and ask if I’m OK They’ll say that I can talk to them if I’m going through things. Love that they are checking up with me. That’s a nice thing to do, but I work out as well. I eat well, and I’m healthy according to my doctors. My body composition and genetics must lead to my low body fat percentage.
When it comes to how much gym rats should be eating, it will come down to weight, height, age, and even gender. If you’re looking to hit the gym, do some research and calculations then do what is right for you. Now, most who work out eat up to five meals a day with some snacks in between. That includes a high-protein meat product such as chicken, beef, fish, eggs, or some vegetarian options such as tofu, chickpeas, or lentils.
You can also include fruits, grains, and carbohydrates. It is what everyone hates, but it is very healthy for you. Whatever you like making with those ingredients turns into a very nice, balanced meal.
