Inktober is a nationwide, month-long challenge that anyone can join. Each day, a new prompt is shared, and participants draw whatever comes to mind when they think of that prompt. The process for joining the challenge is simple — participants just check the day’s prompt and create an ink drawing based on their interpretation.
Jake Parker created Inktober in the 2010s as a way to improve his own ink and drawing skills, and the challenge has grown significantly since then. It’s now a popular annual event that artists worldwide look forward to every October.
The challenge encourages using ink, like pens or markers, for drawings — it’s all in the name “Inktober.” This year, Ms. Galarza in room E-102 provided notebooks and prizes to those who participated.
In recent years, many participants have taken the challenge online, where digital art has become an increasingly popular medium. While Inktober started as a traditional ink-based event, digital art offers a new way for artists to participate.
