Has Granger become more strict or has it become a better place for education: a question most students are wondering about. Well we will know after interviewing the staff here at Granger High School. 

First person to be interviewed was Officer D. Moreno. “Granger has become a better place for education due to students paying more attention to class. They are not as distracted as they were with phones,” Officer Moreno said. 

Some think Granger has become more strict, some think it hasn’t, while some are in the middle. For example, a counselor here at Granger high named Ms. Mcmorrow says, “Granger has become more strict but also Granger has become a better place for education. It is more strict because there are many new rules and regulations, no more phones in class, more hallway expectations,”.

There is another teacher who does agree Granger high has become more strict: Mr. Lewis. “Realistically speaking Granger has become more strict with the new policies. It has become more strict like society has become strict. It is a scientific fact that students can not learn while distracted with a phone,” Mr. Lewis said. When he was asked about what he thinks of the new YONDR pouch policy, he said, “We will not know how these new rules really affect students until the end of the year. As of right now students are communicating more in class. Not by phone but by vocals, they speak with their mouths to each other now”.

What do the students of Granger high think about whether it has become more strict or a better place for education? This is what Jennifer Gomez (11) at Granger high had to say. “I believe Granger has become more strict, they have implied many more rules, they expect so much more from their students now then they did. Taking away your phone even if it is an emergency you have to go down to the office to get in contact with your parents. Phones were not just a distraction, they were also tools that helped students in school,”. Jennifer believes Granger does not have a better education than other high schools, because other high schools have much more to offer.
