SALVADOR Vazques (11) keeps an eye on fashion trends at Granger High. He’s been seeing lots of Graphic tees, Jordans, jewelry, and wearing kid backpacks. He says he has seen a lot of t-shirts with designs on the front and back, and it’s becoming more and more common for these to be worn around the school. 

Also, there’s an increase in students wearing jewelry with more people wearing chains, rings and bracelets. More guys are wearing not just one chain but multiple chains at once. 

And when a guy is wearing a bracelet, it has to do with a connection with someone. 

The Jordan brand has also been worn more often, and it’s not just the shoes. Now it includes shirts, sweaters, hoodies, sweats, backpacks. Vazques says he has been wearing more Jordan, and it seems that teenagers are more drawn to that brand. 

Vazques is also seeing lots of kid backpacks being worn. He says since he was a freshman he’s been seeing these kid backpacks being worn by mostly seniors. Over the years, it has become more of a trend to wear these and now it’s not just seniors wearing them, but the vast majority of the people who do wear these kid backpacks are seniors. He says that he thinks people wear these to be funny and to just enjoy their last year of high school. 

Ernesto Pimentel (11) is also noticing fashion trends around the school including PJ pants and loose fits. Recently there has been an increase with people just wearing PJ pants to school. These are worn because they’re comfy and easy to style without having to try too hard. Loose fits include the old-school flannels, not the nice formal flannels. They’re typically an oversized flannel made by the company FB County.

Diego Olvera (11) says baggy pants and crocs have been coming into fashion. People will probably notice everyone from girls and boys wearing or owning a pair of baggy pants. They are usually comfier to wear than skinnier pants, and they have more pocket space to carry more stuff. 

Baggy pants are also versatile in styling, fitting anywhere from casual looks to more polished looks. They could also be used in a streetwear way because they have been popularized by skaters to look cool. 

Crocs have also made their way into the latest trend. Before no one would wear crocs, but now lots of people are wearing them anywhere they go. Crocs are being worn so much that in every gym class they have to say that crocs cannot be worn in gym class because people are saying sports mode is enough for any workout. They don’t take high maintenance to make them look good; people can wear them with any type of pants and with shorts and are comfy to wear. Crocs can be worn by anyone there is no need to worry if there is a specific gender, age or anything. With a few charms, the look is locked in!
