FLIRTING on ROBLOX is an actual thing! Most people that spend their time on ROBLOX play a variety of games. A lot of Granger’s Lancers spend their free time playing ROBLOX, but instead experience or even run into these awkward flirting encounters. Many describe it as one of the most “awkward” or “uncomfortable” situations ever when a random player they don’t even know starts approaching them with flirty intentions.

“I was just minding my own business playing Royal High, and someone just approached me calling me cute,” Azure Huggins (9) said. “I felt so uncomfortable that I ended up leaving the game.” Lancers like Huggins simply want to enjoy their free time without getting approached by someone they don’t know behind a screen.

Not only do Lancers get awkwardly approached on ROBLOX, but they also see flirting happening with people on the server or even catch “online daters” on their game server.

“I’ve never been approached in a flirtatious way before on ROBLOX, but I have seen online daters have matching avatars and even start saying things you would normally hear couples say in real life,” said William Huang (12). There are even specific games that are dedicated to creating matching avatar sets for people that want to have matching avatars. This gives many of these people on ROBLOX that decide to flirt, or the ones that decide to online date, the opportunity to have matching avatars.

Overall, many people on ROBLOX can be seen participating in these flirtatious conversations and actions between each other, because they may not even know each other.

“I have been playing ROBLOX for about three years now, and there’s definitely been many times where I’ve seen flirting happening right in front of me,” Yantu Barbara (9) said. “There was a time when I was playing a game and saw a guy ask a girl for her Snapchat even though they didn’t know each other.” Barbara said.

Players on ROBLOX may not even be considering who may even be behind the screen. By easily giving a stranger social media accounts and even other information in a flirty manner, Lancers could risk their safety or end up in dangerous situations later. It’s always a better idea to take precautions when talking to strangers on ROBLOX in order to have a safer experience.

“In all my years that I have been playing ROBLOX, there’ve been many instances where people bypass the community guidelines towards the chat,” Derlin Ramos (9) said. “People start typing things in the chat that can be questionable at times,” Ramos said.

Many people find ways on ROBLOX to bypass the community guidelines towards the chat that is provided for everyone in a game server to type and chat. The people who approach others in flirtatious ways may not be allowed to say what they would like to say because of the safety guidelines. That’s when they start to bypass and filter the chat in order to engage in flirty and playful behaviors without being filtered or tagged out.
